Adam Luff

Treasurer

Adam started his musical journey on French Horn at the age of 10 at Junction Park State School in Annerley, Brisbane. Attending Mansfield State High School from 2003, Adam was passionate about all facets of music, attending concert band, orchestra, choir, and the occasional big band. Adam also attended Education Queensland's MOST camp in both 2005 and 2007 on French Horn. Upon his introduction to the Tenor Horn at 16, Adam enjoyed 2 years of brass banding under Jon Christodoulides & Josh McKechie in Brisbane Brass No. 2, an enjoyable experience in a completely new realm of brass playing. Upon graduating from Mansfield SHS, Adam was granted entry to the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU) to study French Horn performance in 2008.

Over the years, Adam has had the pleasure of playing with the QYO Queensland Wind Symphony, QYO Queensland Youth Symphony, QCGU Brass Ensemble, QCGU Brass Band, QCGU Orchestra, QCGU Wind Ensemble, QCGU Horn Ensemble, various chamber groups, and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra during his late university years and beyond. However, it wasn't until 2017 that Adam became involved with community banding once more, joining Brisbane Brass in their A-grade band, Brisbane Brass No. 1.

These days Adam still plays 1st horn with BB1. His enthusiasm for community banding has seen him become more involved with the management of the association, being elected Treasurer of Brisbane Brass in 2018, a position still currently held. In August 2020, Adam was further elected Treasurer of the Queensland Band Association. When he's not wrestling with accounting software, Adam enjoys board games, video games, cycling, working out, and studying science.
