We are based at RAAF Amberley, and are a mix of serving Air Force members, defense contractors, retired Air Force, Army and Navy personnel, spouses and dependents of serving members as well as civilian members from the local community. Musical Director Wanted: Cairns Brass are looking for a conductor for their Youth band for approximately 6 months. BROLGA BRASS (the training band of Townsville Brass)
Is looking for a CONDUCTOR.
We are an enthusiastic group of 22 regulars, half school-aged and half adults, with a desire to improve. We competed in the 2008 Nationals and were the highest placed Queensland D Grade band and 4th overall. If a conductor can be found we would like to compete in the 2009 Nationals under his/her direction.
Townsville is a thriving city of over 160,000 with a sunny climate and all services and facilities. The Townsville Citizens Band Association has its own air conditioned band hall and large well-organised library. A small honorarium is paid per rehearsal.
Experienced players would also be welcome in our senior band, Townsville Brass, which was placed second in the B Grade at 2008 Nationals.

Stanthorpe Bandis looking for a musical director for the town brass band.
The band is a long established organisation but at present is suffering, as many country bands are, with low membership numbers. However this does not diminish the enthusiasm of the experienced members of the band who are keen to build up the band's membership and activities. The position is voluntary however negotiations are welcome with any interested persons.Stanthorpe has a many outstanding musical and artistic citizens and a vibrant banding organisation would have many opportunities for performances, not to mention visits to all those wineries!
